Speech from the Judge's Perspective · Facilitator: Alex Brehm, Lower Columbia College · Time & Location: Friday 9-9:50am in TJ Day 219 · Description: This session will invite students to step outside of their competitor mindset and consider what it's like to judge all eleven AFA/NFA speech events. We'll take a variety of perspectives, ranging from the forensics insider to the mythical lay judge. It serves as an equitable expansion of access for students around the world to connect in debates. However, online debate remains a communication activity that requires persuasion and professional presentation. This workshop explores “digital excellence” or ways to debate online in a way that enhances the uniqueness of the format.
