I am a first year judge. My son participated in CONGRESS, EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEAKING, IMPROMPTU, and WORLDS DEBATE. In Policy I look for a plan on the AFF and arguments to replace or outweigh the AFF on the NEG side. It is up to the debaters to guide me to which arguments are the more or most relevant. I see myself as a policy maker being presented with two options. The burdens of proof, and veracity of the evidence and claims must be made by the debaters. Cross ex is very important. A good global summary and introduction/review of voters in the closing speeches is likely the best path to winning my ballot. Don't forget to ask me to vote for your side in the debate.
