Totally fine but should be minimal.

How do you decide the winner of a debate round?

The one with the most points for the most compelling arguments will win the round.

On a scale of 1 to 7, how necessary do you feel the use of evidence (both analytical and empirical) is in the round?

I take as many detailed notes as I can. I will typically try to jot short hand bullet points as I am listening and add more detail once the round is completed.

I think it is easier to understand a debate/speech when the orator stays more narrowly focused on the topic/argument.
