Florida Forensic League Hired Judges

This is my sixth year actively involved in debate, first high school now for all four years as a senior at the University of Miami. I flow rounds carefully but place special emphasis on key arguments.

I’m not easily swayed by fancy jargon or technical language - what matters most to me is your ability to formulate a coherent and well-mechanized argument. Nevertheless, your usage of particular style is welcomed; its just unlikely to serve as a final tiebreaker unless absolutely necessary.

Be sure to emphasize impacts - at the end of a round I will analyze each team’s impacts on multiple levels of analyses to determine who wins. Further, citing your source material (and dates) is incredibly important! It provides valuable insight into your round and, frankly, your argument may come across as half-baked without it.

I’m impartial to your speaking style, but don’t feel like you have to rush through arguments. Emphasize clarity and appeal over speed - make eye contact with me and convince me! And please demonstrate kindness and fairness to your opponents - I may take into consideration inappropriate conduct throughout the round (e.g. eye-rolling, head shaking, belittling, and overall contempt).
