General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a College tournament in South Dakota. View manager contact information Forensics Forensics It is with great pleasure that, on behalf of South Dakota State University, I invite you to the first annual No Coast Championship. The No Coast Championship is designed to be a state tournament for schools without a state tournament. The tournament will be run as an open tournament but geared towards schools in the Upper Midwest that no longer hold state tournaments. The No Coast will offer two preliminary rounds of 11 AFA speech events and three preliminary rounds of Parliamentary Debate and finals in all events in a synchronous online tournament on Saturday, February 18. Additionally, states that wish to use the competition to select their Interstate Oratory Contest participants should notify the tournament director. Entries Entries should be submitted online by visiting Speechwire. If you have difficulties registering online, please contact Andrea Carlile at andrea.carlile@sdstate.edu. Registration is due at 5:00 pm on February 14. Fees will be assessed at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15. Any changes made after 12:00 pm on February 15 will be charged drop fees as noted in the fee section of the invitation. Entry Conflicts: Students may be entered in up to 6 individual events, with no more than three in each conflict pattern. Students participating in Parliamentary Debate cannot only enter IEs in flight B and not enter IEs in flight A. Judges One judge covers 6 IE entries or two Parli teams. Teams with both IE and debate entries should expect judges to judge both competition rounds. We will work with judges to get the best possible combination for everyone. $15per uncovered IE slot and $30 per uncovered Parli team. All team judges are expected to be available for the final rounds. We encourage all teams to cover at least 50% of their entries. All judges are considered clean for the final rounds. Fees Each IE entry is $8. Each Parliamentary Debate entry is $25. Entries are due on Tuesday, February 14, at 5:00 pm. Fees will be assessed on February 15 at 12:00 pm. A $15 add/drop fee will be added for each IE change, and a $25 fee for each debate add/drop after that time. Awards: All finalists will receive certificates, and the top three schools in the team sweepstakes will be mailed plaques.
