You are cordially Invited to the 2023 Northtown Novice Speech and Debate Tournament Dear NSDA Squads and Coaches,
North Kansas City High School speech and debate team would like to invite you and your squad to the Northtown Novice tournament, November 17-18, 2023. We will be co-hosting this year with Park Hill South High School where the varsity competition will take place. NKC will be hosting policy debate, Lincoln Douglas debate, and public forum debate. For individual events we will have US extemp, international extemp, oratory, humorous interpretation, dramatic interpretation, prose, poetry, storytelling, duo interpretation, informative speaking, and student congress. In an effort to provide maximum opportunities for competition we also ask that each school provide ONE judge Friday and Saturday (these can be student judges with 150 NSDA points). The deadline for receiving entries on Speechwire.com will be Thursday November 9, 2023 at 3:00PM. We will guarantee 2 entries in each event and then all other entries will be waitlisted upon entry – we will grant what we can accommodate during the day on November 10. Extra entries will be awarded as available and at the discretion of the host school. Entry numbers granted may be lower than usual due to the need to limit large congregations of students and community judge willingness to volunteer in a pandemic. Entry fees will be $9.00/entry. Direct any questions to Amanda Dolinger (816) 321-4490 (room phone), or (816) 536-0926 (cell), or amanda.dolinger@nkcschools.org For an invitation to the novice tournament, please email Hannah Townsend at Park Hill South, TownsendH@parkhill.k12.mo.us Amanda Dolinger Shawn Daugherty Kerry Durrill Head Speech & Debate Coach Assistant Coach Assistant Coach Competition Information and Rules
