We are OFFERING MIDDLE SCHOOL EVENTS THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!! DOUBLE ENTRY TOO!!!! If there is space, interest, and staffing I will also offer MS extemp!

We will still be hosting three fantastic rounds of competition in speech PLUS A POWER ROUND and two rounds in congress!

DOUBLE ENTRY IS PERMITTED!!!!! (SPACE PERMITTING)

MASKS MAY BE WORN BY STUDENTS AND JUDGES. STUDENTS MAY CHOOSE TO REMOVE MASKS WHEN SPEAKING.

My name is Manuel and I am the speech coach at Canton McKinley H.S. I don’t usually write to you asking for things, but…I would like you to come judge our 2022 Holiday Tournament.

Yes, it is time for the McKinley Speech Team's Holiday Speech Tournament. Ho ho ho!

The particulars:

Date: December 16, 2023

Place: Canton McKinley HS

Events: Drama, Humor, Original, Declamation, POI, Duo Interp, Informative Congress, Domestic & International Extemp.AND MIDDLE SCHOOL EVENTS!

Fees: $6.00 per entry except for Duo. Duo is $12.00 Middle school entries are 3.00 No Team Entry Fee.

Congress Legislation We will follow the OHSSL Docket.

Awards – TROPHIES and medals to all placers.

Sweepstakes mention to top schools.

FOOD WILL BE AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE Day. Please stay at MCK for Lunch and Finals. Pizza, Jojo's and sandwiches.Etc....

Judges:

1 -5 Contestants = 1 Judge

6 - 10 = 2 Judges

11 - 15 = 3 Judges

Etc.(in increments of five).

Congress

One judge per 6 congress people.

DO NOT DROP JUDGES!!!!!!

Entries: Entries will be unlimited but we may have to ask schools to trim entries due to space. Your first four entries will be protected from hitting each other.

Time Schedule: Please note the Time Schedule. We are starting early so we can get Round 1 going before 9:00 a.m. 8:30 would be my wish to get started.

Registration: 7:15

Extempers should report to the prep room. TBA .
