The MUDECAS Speech Contest will be held at the HTRS School in Humboldt, NE.

The MUDECAS rules state that if schools have nine or fewer entries, they do not have to provide a judge.  Schools with 10-15 entries must judge one round and schools with 16 or more entries must judge two rounds.  If you cannot judge, make sure you find someone to judge for you.  Please enter your judge information in Speechwire.

MUDECAS follows the rules as set forth by the NSAA. Humorous Impromptu will be done even though it is not a sanctioned event.  The rules of the conference state the following:

1. You may register a total of 20 entries.
2. You may register no more than 3 entries per individual event.
3. You may register no more than 2 entries per group event.
4. You may register each student in no more than 2 events per flight.

The flights are as follows:

Flight A – Humorous Prose, Informative, OID, Duet, Extemporaneous                                                                                 Flight B – Serious Prose, Poetry Persuasive, Entertainment, Humorous Impromtu

Sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to the top three schools. The top six speakers in each event will receive medals.

While it is important that enthusiasm be demonstrated, we ask your cooperation in assisting that students are quiet in hallways and near areas where competitions are taking place.  We expect a large turnout and fully plan to use every room available.
