General information This information is from a tournament in a past season! This is a Middle School tournament in Nebraska. View manager contact information
The Junior High School Central Players welcome you to our 3rd Annual Junior Central Players Invitational on April 27th, 2024.
We will allow students in 6th through 8th grade to compete.
You may register for events via the Speechwire website. Our tournament will have 3 rounds and finals.
We plan to have one judge in each prelim round and 3 judges in finals.
We will be using paper ballots.
Events: We will offer Humorous Interp, Dramatic Interp, Duet, Poetry, Declamation, Oral Interpretation of Drama, Persuasive, Informative Speaking, Entertainment Speaking, Extemporaneous, and Impromptu. If you have any questions on rules for events please see below and/or contact me.
Triathlon: Students many triple enter and be eligible for a triathlon award in any 3 events. Please realize that getting to rounds on time is the speaker’s responsibility and the judge will not wait beyond the start time of the next round.
Awards: We will be giving awards for the top 6 in all events. Round ribbons will also be given for first and second place only. OID is the only exception to this. Championship and runner-up team sweepstakes trophies will be presented. Triathlon awards will be given to the top three.
You must furnish one judge for every 6 entries or part thereof. (6 entries = 1 judge, 7 entries = 2 judges) There will be a $15 charge per uncovered entries. Remember, if you want to judge, you count as one judge.
Entry fees are $6 for each individual event. Group entries count as one entry.
Concessions will be available throughout the meet. Our hospitality lounge will be open and available to coaches and judges.
ENTRIES ARE DUE BY 5:00 P.M. ON April 24, 2024.
Please enter online at speechwire.com
This year we would also like to offer an Aspiring Speakers division for students 5th grade and below (depending on interest). Students can prepare any type of speech (interp or platform). The time limit will be 8 minutes. Students will not be ranked, but will receive ballots and awards. Please email if you have any interest.
