We are looking at a great turnout of judges this year and have been pursuing the recruitment and training of new judges as well as continued communication with the Grand Valley pool that already exists.  I would like to make a strong appeal, though, for you to bring as many judges as you possibly can.  If you are traveling, I understand your limitations, but if you are bringing a large crew, please reciprocate.
I know that other District 51 schools continue to help recruit and train judges so that we can build our pool even larger and benefit all tournament hosts.

Our team will be running a well-stocked concessions stand (Soup Bar ($5), popcorn, healthy + unhealthy snacks, and a HOT CHOCOLATE BAR ($2)!) so tell your students to bring some cash and enjoy our goodies.
Coaches and judges will be well-fed from our Speech & Debate families.

New and old expectations: Our competitors and adults should understand that their demeanor at tournaments reflects the image of the entire speech and debate community. Although our competitors are very competitive, they have always done a great job of respecting and thanking each other, the judges, and the coaches:)
We embrace and strive to adhere to NSDA's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion statement:
The National Speech & Debate Association is committed to modeling and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion for all speech and debate communities.
We are continuously transforming our organization to reflect and operationalize the values of equity, integrity, respect, leadership, and service.
We will take responsibility.
We will heed, learn, and evolve.
We will work conscientiously to model and foster an inclusive and equitable speech and debate experience for all.

We look forward to seeing you at our tournament! For our new coaches - PLEASE ask any of us for help! We are here for you:)
Coach tournament jobs will be forthcoming, but know that we will use speechwire for balloting and tabulation.
