Edna Cowboy Debates
General information This is a High School tournament in Texas. View manager contact information Edna Cowboy Debates Welcome to the First Annual Cowboy Debates hosted by Edna High School in Edna, Texas!
The Debates will take place on Saturday November 9, 2024.
Everyone will debate 5 rounds. Teams/LD’rs will be Power matched after round 3.
Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each division.
Divisions offered:
Novice CX & Varsity CX Novice LD & Varsity LD
CX will use the National topic, Resolved: The United States Government should significantly strengthen its protection of domestic intellectual property rights in copyrights, patents, and trademarks.
LD will use the UIL Fall topic, Resolved: In the United States, agroecology ought to be prioritized over industrial agriculture.
Judging: We ask that schools provide 1 judge per 2 entries in CX and LD. A $100 judges fee will be added to your invoice for all judges you are not able to provide.
Drops after November 7th will result in a $50 nuisance fee payable before Round 1.
Parking: Attached is the parking map
Concessions will be available from 10am-4pm
Selfie Station: We will have a selfie station and encourage students to take as many pics as you want and use #cowboydebates.
Holding Space: Teams will hang out in the Cafeteria between contests.
Hospitality: Located in the Media center (Library) in the Science Building. Light breakfast will be available and lunch served from 11am-2pm.
