2. After R1 & R2, prep is 25 minutes. The furthest distance possible we believe are schools prepping in Buck Hall but debating in Wendell Phillips Center (WPC) This is about a 7-8 minute casual walk. The enforcement for being late is the countdown rule from NPDA.

Parking

Parking in spaces identified as “B Parking” with an orange sign in the parking lots are free throughout the weekend. Parking lots closest to tab Lots 20, 23, 4, 7, and 36. You can also park along Dave Brubeck way. Please see the campus map linked on the doc or in files on speechwire to find the lots.

Payment

Invoices will be finalized this evening and you can access your team’s invoice online. If you would like to pay via credit card, the link has been updated on the google doc & will be on speechwire. You can also pay via check or cash (we like this because of no fees) and if you have questions about your invoice please contact Steve at his email.

Digital Tournament and Accessing Ballots

Like other platforms, students and judges can subscribe to themselves so they get email and text message blasts throughout the weekend. Simply go to speechwire.com, find our tournament, click subscribe, and then follow the directions. If you have students emails entered as well, we will go through and verify this evening.

Your judges will access their ballots on live.speechwire.com. If they have not used their email to access ballots on speechwire previously, they will need to use the forgot password link, enter the email address affiliated with their account that was input during registration, and then set up a password. Instructions and links to this are available on the tournament google doc.

Internet Access

We have a dedicated network for the tournament this year and we hope this should alleviate some of the access concerns of the past. That information is available at the top of the tournament google document and here is the information as well:

SSID: PacificForensics

Password: 2024Tournament

However, if this does not work, you can use the guest network as well. We recommend you restart your laptop when you come to campus as this has consistently proven an effective method for accessing our Guest WiFi network. If you choose to use the guest network instead of the dedicated WiFi network, and are using Apple devices, please open your web browser to "pacific.edu" to force the internet splash page so you can use it.

Lunch and Amenities

We have ordered 425 lunch tickets that are valid at the DeRosa University Center in order to try and provide lunch for the following folks each day:

Friday- Lincoln Douglas competitors and judges

Saturday- Lincoln Douglas elimination competitors, Parliamentary debate competitors and judges

Sunday- IE & IPDA competitors and judges along with Parli elimination round competitors

We will likely have extra tickets but will try to give every possible combination for you and your students in your registration folder. We pay for every ticket so PLEASE do not lose them and if we need extra we can ask for them potentially over the weekend but I cannot promise this.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning there will be coffee and refreshments in Anderson Regents. If you are interested in trying food from Stockton (HIGHLY RECOMMEND) then check the google document with a list of restaurants in the area! If you are staying in Lodi I can provide recommendations for there as well!

Collapsing Events, Judging Commitments, and Strikes

We will be collapsing events per the invitation where necessary. We appreciate you understanding our need to do so but will recognize the top novices in collapsed divisions. In terms of judging commitments, we will be sure to shift your commitment as we shift between events as well.
