Bulldog Battle - High School Edition
General information This is a High School tournament in Indiana. View manager contact information
Dear Coaches-
The Butler University Speech and Debate Team is excited to invite you to our beautiful campus in Indianapolis for the Bulldog Battle High School Edition on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Our tournament has been designated as a qualifying tournament for the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions (NIETOC). This speech tournament will feature competition in 15 speech events (all speech events offered by the Indiana Schools Speech and Debate Association). Students may generally enter up to two events with certain limitations. Students entered in discussion may not double. Students entered in Extemporaneous, Broadcasting, or Impromptu may only enter one other event and it may not be Extemporaneous, Broadcasting, or Impromptu. Students entered in Extemporaneous or Broadcasting must do Extemporaneous or Broadcasting first. Students entered in Impromptu must do Impromptu last. A student may enter two Duos as long as each duo has a different partner.
There will be an amply stocked judges' lounge and a built-in 30-minute lunch break. The competition buildings are nearly all connected via skywalks, so we ask that individuals not go outside unless necessary. When outside, please be cautious as the weather in February can be treacherous. As of now, we intend to hold the Humorous Interpretation final round in the same location as awards, so those finalists should be prepared to perform for an extra-large audience.
The extemporaneous events may be combined if entries warrant. Broadcasting and discussion details will be provided after all entries are received.
We will utilize electronic balloting/critiques. Before the tournament begins, please be sure your judges bring a suitable electronic device and are familiar with how to complete an electronic ballot on Speechwire. Further, please instruct your judges to submit their ranks immediately after the last speaker and then continue writing critiques if the wish. This will help keep the tournament running on time.
The cost is $8.00 per entry, plus an additional $10.00 for any uncovered entry. One judge will cover 8 entries or any fraction thereof (9 entries require 2 judges). Our entry deadline is 5:00PM (Eastern) on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, but we ask that you indicate ASAP if your school will be attending
