Bethany Christian Debate Tournament
General information This is a High School tournament in Indiana. View manager contact information Hello Coaches, Welcome to our tournament. Debate rounds begin at 8:30 Eastern time. Please bring one judge per two main event entries (CX, LD, PF, WSD) and one per five Congress entries. Please note that the physical size of our school necessitates restrictions on total size of entries. Those overall limits are 10 for CX, 20 entries for both LD and PFD, 10 for WSD, and 50 for Congress. I apologize for those of you with large programs. I realize this may put you as a coach in a difficult position in terms of deciding who competes and who does not, but I cannot simply add more rooms to our school. (We do havea building program going on right now, so more may be possible in 2025). When you complete your entry, please enter names and don't just place-hold entries without names. In fairness, I am limiting individual school entries to 5 for PF and LD, two for WSD, and 15 for Congress. Once the registration picture becomes clearer, I will allow you to add more entries in events that can handle them. The Policy debate topic is Resolved: The United States federal government should significantly strengthen its protection of domestic intellectual property rights in copyrights, patents, and/or trademarks. Novice Policy debate case limits will be applied. The October PF resolution will be debated. Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially expand its surveillance infrastructure along its southern border. Congress bills to be debated are from the ISSDA September/October docket: FP 2 -- UN Restructuring; B/E 3 A Bill to Empower Bankruptcy Courts to Alter Mortgages; SC 2 College protest; FP 1 Border Protection Act The Lincoln-Douglas topic will be the same for both novice and varsity divisions: Resolved: The United States ought to require that workers receive a living wage. WSD prepared motions -- teams will debate AFF/NEG for the following, and have two impromptu motions: This House would significantly limit private land ownership. Blessings, Michael
