On behalf of the speech and debate programs at Hathaway Brown, I am proud to welcome you to Shaker Heights.  We are pleased to offer competition in all OSDA HS and MS events, Big Questions Debate for High School, and Middle School Extemporaneous Speaking.  To be safe, we  will begin with 6 in every event and place any overflow on the waitlist, with the expectation that once we see attendance, we will likely be able to accommodate more.  All registration will take place from 8:00-8:30am. 

 

We will guarantee 4 rounds of IE, 3 rounds of policy and middle school competition, and 4 rounds of LD and PF, with a 4th round of middle school and a 5th round of LD/PF possible if we have enough rooms and time.  Speech double entries are permitted except for extemp.    

 

Congress will use the OSDA docket for January 11th. MS Congress also use the OSDA Middle School docket.  MS PF will debate the OSDA MS PF topic for January/February 2025.  All other debates will use the appropriate NSDA topics for January 2025

 

A variety of lunch options will be offered to students.  We will do our best to accommodate special dietary needs, but please feel free to bring your own food if you feel the need.
