Welcome to the 2025 Fremont High School Speech Tournament!

 
The Fremont High Speech Team cordially invites you to attend the Fremont Speech Tournament to be held on Friday, January 11th, 2025.  We will have three preliminary rounds and then finals.

ENTRIES ARE DUE BY 4:00 p.m. ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 8th 
 
EVENTS and RULES
We will offer the following events: Informative, Oratory, Entertainment, Poetry, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Extemporaneous, Duo, OID, and Impromptu.
We will be following the NSDA rules for all of the events, though Duet Acting pieces may be entered as Duos.
Additionally, as per NSDA rules, Informative Speaking will also have a ten-minute time limit, as opposed to eight minutes.
 
 
ENTRIES and FEES
Students may triple enter.  However, we will not hold a round if they are running late.  
Entry fee will be $8.00 per event (Duo counts as one event).  
Any entry not covered by your judges will cost an additional $30.00 per entry.

**There will be NO refunds for drops after your entry has been received**
 
JUDGES
You must provide one qualified judge for every five (5) entries.  
Any entry not “covered” by your judges will cost an additional $30.00 per entry.  
Please try to cover as many judges as possible.  
ALL JUDGES MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR FINALS.
 
AWARDS
Plaques will be awarded to the champion in each event with medals for 2nd–6th place. Sweepstakes will be awarded to the top two teams.
 
CONCESSIONS
There will be a concession stand and a judges and coaches lounge provided all evening.

7:30    Registration on stage in the auditorium
8:30    General Meeting in Auditorium
8:30    Extemp. Draw--Round 1
9:00    Round 1 All events
10:00    Extemp. Draw--Round 2
10:30    Round 2 All events
11:30    Extemp Draw--Round 3
12:00    Round 3 All events
ASAP Finals posted in common areas across the building.
ASAP Awards
 
 
 
**We will send six students in all events to finals, and if entries allow six to honors finals, and 6 to merit finals in all events EXCEPT OID, which will only have champs and honors (with 4 teams in each).
 
 
**Ties in finals will be broken on the following criteria:(1) Judges preference, (2) Reciprocals, (3) Total Points**
