20th Bemidji Lumberjack Invitational
General information This is a High School tournament in Minnesota. View manager contact information Hello: Registration will be held beginning at 8AM in the BHS Commons, with draws headquartered in the adjacent Media Center to begin at 8:45AM. DRAWS WILL BE ONLINE, SO BE SURE STUDENTS HAVE A SPEECHWIRE ACCOUNT, AND A DEVICE FOR ACCESS. Finals are planned for 2:15PM. We hope to have you on the road home by 5PM. WE WILL OFFER FULL ON SITE SCHEDULING, so you are asked to please make changes to your registration prior to arrival. Please register all speakers and judges by first and last name. Double-entering is welcomed, but TRIPLE entering is NOT PERMITTED. NOTE: DRAW ORDER IS PRIORITIZED TO AVOID THE INHERENT ADVANTAGE OF DRAWING FIRST EACH ROUND. STUDENTS MAY NOT DOUBLE IN A DRAW AND DISCUSSION. If students are in their first year of Speech, AND in grade 7-9, you may designate them as NOVICE on your registration page. They will compete on the normal varsity schedule, but the top novice in each category not breaking to a final will receive a ribbon and acknowledgement. Fee is $8 per entry (duos count as one). Please make checks payable to Bemidji Speech Boosters. You are responsible for 1 judge for every 6 entries (13 entries requires 3 judges, 19 entries requires 4). A LIMITED number of judges will be available for hire at a rate of $120 each, on a first come-first served basis. You must request to hire judges, and not simply register short of your required total. PLEASE REGISTER JUDGES BY NAME AND TYPE so that they may be scheduled. Each school is responsible for providing the number of judges required based upon numbers at the 6PM Friday registration deadline. If you are unclear of what is required of you, please ask in advance. Drops for scheduling purposes will be allowed until 7:30AM on Saturday, February 22nd, and your judge requirement will not be reduced by drops after the deadline. We will offer an honor final IF NUMBERS WARRANT. Note also, that we will utilize e-balloting, and e-critiqueing, however paper ballots and critiques will be allowed for judges who prefer them. We look forward to a challenging and rewarding event for you and your students!
