We are pleased to invite your team to the STMA Knights Invitational on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at St. Michael-Albertville High School. 

 

 Date:           Saturday, February 8, 2025

 

Events:         All MSHSL events and Program Oral Interpretation.

 

Fees:           $7.00 per entry (Duos will count as one entry).

 

Discussion:  Tasks will be distributed electronically in round. Section of the outline to be used is TBD.

 

Draws: Extemp Reading Prose passages will come from stories 1-15. Extemp Reading Poetry passages will come from all poems. Stories 1-15 will be used for Storytelling draws. We will use SpeechWire for draws.

 

Double Entries:  Participants may double enter. However, a student may not enter two draw events or a draw event and discussion.  No triple entries.

 

Awards:  There will be championship finals in all events with medals awarded to 1st-7th places. If numbers warrant, we will hold next-in and/or merit finals and award ribbons to those finalists (last year, we had next-in finals for all categories except POI and merit finals in 5 events). Team awards are TBD.

 

Judges:     Please bring one per six entries or fraction thereof. 

 

Registration: We will have registration open until we reach 720 entries. Please register as soon as possible to ensure attendance. Once we reach our cap, I will try to accommodate adds as drops come in, but I can't guarantee entry. Please register both competitors and judges on Speechwire.com no later than Thursday, February  6th, at 4:30 pm. Drops after this date will not lower your registration fee. Adds may be possible the day of the tournament depending on numbers.

 

Concessions:     There will be food available for purchase in the upper concession stand near the cafeteria. We will have a  lounge in our FACS pod that will provide adequate sustenance for coaches, judges, and bus drivers. 

 

Schedule:   Times are approximate and subject to change as the day goes on. We will be site scheduling.
