Hello friends!

 

We look forward to hosting you at Hoover High School, North Canton Middle School, and North Canton Intermediate School on Saturday, January 11th.  As you finalize decision regarding your tournament schedule, please review the items below so you are aware of what we plan to offer.

 

The important highlights of the tournament are listed below.

 

1). The tournament will be IN PERSON.

2). We will offer all OSDA HS events and MS events.

3). We will offer double entry in HS speech events.

4).  There will be three rounds of HS speech events followed by a final round of the top six, five rounds of LD and PF, and two sessions and a final of HS congressional debate.  There will be three rounds of MS speech events, four rounds of MS extemporaneous debate and two sessions of MS congressional debate.

5). NEW!!! NON ADVANCING SPEECH AND CONGRESSIONAL DEBATE STUDENTS MAY THEN RE-REGISTER FOR EXTEMP DEBATE, PROSE, OR EXPOSITORY.  THERE WILL BE TWO QUICK ROUNDS OF EACH SUPPLEMENTAL EVENT. 

6).  We will offer a final round for any MS event that reaches at least 30 in a category.

7). POLICY DEBATE--IMPORTANT--We will be hosting a two-day PDQ (with Friday being virtual).  

 PLEASE let me know what if you wish for us to offer this. 

8). We will recognize the top three novice competitors in each event. 

9). Please select the correct division for your competitors. First year high school competitors should be marked NOVICE.  All other HS competitors should be marked VARSITY, unless you have more than four competitors in a speech event.  In that case, mark your additional competitors as JV.

10). Middle school competitors MUST BE REGISTERED UNDER YOUR MIDDLE SCHOOL ACCOUNT.  You can't register them with your high school students.

11). More details will follow regarding buildings, times, etc.
