Dear Speech Coaches,

It is my pleasure to extend an invitation to your team for the third annual Maxwell Wildcat Middle School Speech Tournament to be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

Many schools in Western Nebraska do not have Middle School Teams. This is an excellent opportunity to begin building a program that will offer younger students experiences to grow before they even enter high school!

The Maxwell Tournament will be run similarly to a high school tournament. Maximum times for each event will not be changed. Minimum times will be eliminated. The goal is to give these kids an opportunity to practice speaking and competing.

Middle School students have been so excited to join in this activity and it is growing quickly here in Western Nebraska. If you have not started a team, I would love to assist in any way I can. For those of you joining us again, it's going to be a great year!

We will run nine of the ten NSAA events. The only event change will be Extemp. We will *not* have Extemp at the tournament, instead we will run Impromptu.

Registration for the tournament will begin at 8:15 a.m. All events will run concurrently.

9:00 a.m. Round 1

10:30 a.m. Round 2

12:00 p.m. Round 3

2:00 p.m. Awards

This will be three rounds, no finals event. Students may triple enter at their own discretion. The top six in each category will be awarded.

Entry Fees will be $7.00 for each entry, individual or group. Please try to provide a judge for each of six entries or part thereof. If you are unable to do so, there will be a $85 fee per judge expense.
