Delta High School’s 2025 Panther Pride Speech & Debate Tournament

It’s almost time for the Delta High School Panther Pride Speech Competition. This year, it will be a two-day tournament! Please join us on Friday, January 10th, and Saturday, January 11th, at Delta High School in Delta, Colorado. Friday evening will be our World Schools Debate tournament, and Saturday will be a regular tournament. We are proud to offer a novice and varsity house in Congress. It is time to let the Congress novices reign!

The Public Forum Debate topic will be Resolved: TBD (please refer to the NSDA)

The Lincoln-Douglas Debate topic will be Resolved: TBD (please refer to the NSDA)

Students may enter ONE A event and ONE B event. There is NO DOUBLING (i.e., a student cannot enter both Congress and Value as they are in the same wave).

Please preregister by Friday, December 20th (even if you are guessing- this is BEFORE Christmas break) at www.speechwire.com so we can find enough judges.  Please have your registration perfected by Tuesday, January 7th. Please stick to that deadline (there will be a drop fee after Wednesday, January 8th at midnight). We should be able to find judges if you give us enough info and time. Please enter your assistant coaches as potential judges. If you bring judges, enter them so we can honor their time and travel.

Registration is $10.00 per individual event and $20.00 per team. Each World Schools Debate team fee is $25 (the fee covers 3-5 kids and includes dinner on Friday night). Checks can be sent or brought on the day of the event. They should be made to the Delta High School Speech & Debate Team. Visiting teams will not be refunded entry fees for drops made on the morning of the meet.

We will provide breakfast (burritos), juice, coffee, snacks, and lunch for all coaches and judges. Concessions will be open for the competitors all day, and lunch items will be available for purchase.

On Friday, we will provide dinner for the Worlds kids. On Saturday, we offer a concession stand with breakfast items and a taco bar for lunch, snacks, and drinks. Prices will be fair. Please encourage your kids to eat at our concession stand. The meal deal will include two tacos, a bag of chips, a water or mini-soda, and a dirt cup.

On Friday, please arrive at DHS by 3:30 pm for registration. We plan to start debate at 4:00 pm. On Saturday, we plan to start Draw (Extemp & Value) promptly at 7:30AM and all Wave A events at 8:00 AM. To respect everyone’s travel times please be on time, as rounds will start with or without you.
