General information

This is a High School tournament in Nebraska.

Date: Saturday, January 25^th, 2025

Change for 2025:

1. We will be using E-Ballots this year.  Please make sure all judges have a log-in for SpeechWire, that they bring computers to judge for the day and changers for the meet.  E-Ballots will be made immediately available to coaches upon submission to the tab room.
2. We will follow the NSAA rule change on Tiebreakers – Opponents Average Rank (Strength of Schedule) will become the second tiebreaker, ahead of speaker points.

Entries: Due by Tuesday, January 21^st. 2025 

-Drops made at or later than 12:01 AM on Thursday, January 23^rd will not reduce fees. 

-Adds will be taken up until Friday at 12:01 PM.  After that point, no adds.

-Unlimited entries per event (this means teammates may be competing against each other)

-Limit individuals to entering in three total events.

-We will use SpeechWire for registration and other meet preparations.

-There IS  novice division

Registration: 7:00 – 7:45 AM

Judges/Coaches Meeting: 7:45 – 8:00 AM

Entry Fee: $8.00 per entry

Judging Fee:  Schools are to provide one judge for every SIX entries.  There will be a fee of $80.00 for every six entries OR

PORTION THEREOF not covered. 

EX: 12 entries – provide 2 judges; 14 entries – provide 3 judges

Awards: There will be medals provided to:

• Top 10 in each individual event / Top 8 for each group event in Varsity
• Top 6 in each individual event / Top 5 for each group event in Novice.

Concessions: There will be concessions available throughout the day.  There MAY be a meal option for students (still being

determined).  There will be a coaches/judges hospitality room available throughout the day with food provided for breakfast and lunch.

Commons Area:  One of the gyms will be used for commons, as well as awards.

            7:00 – 7:45 – Registration

            7:45 – 8:00 – Judges/Coaches Meeting

            8:00 – Round 1, Flight A (Humorous, Poetry, Entertainment, OID, Persuasive – SUBJECT TO CHANGE*)

            8:15 – Extemp Draw, Round 1

            9:15 – Round 1, Flight B (Extemporaneous, Serious, Informative, Duet Acting, POI – SUBJECT TO CHANGE*)

            10:30 – Round 2, Flight A

            10:45 – Extemp Draw, Round 2

            11:45 – Round 2, Flight B

            1:00 – Round 3, Flight A

            1:15 – Extemp. Draw, Round 3

            2:15 – Round 3, Flight B

            3:45 – Awards

* = Events might change flight to assure the best competition rooms are used for the tournament
