On behalf of the University of Illinois Speech and Debate team, we’re excited to invite you all to the 2025 Illini Springtime Swing! It will consist of two asynchronous tournaments during the weeks of February 3rd and February 10th. All 11 AFA events will be offered.

 

Schedule for part 1:

LP prompts released at 12pm on Friday, January 31st

Videos due at 8pm on Monday, February 3rd

Prelim ballots released at 10pm on Monday, February 3rd

Prelim ballots due at 6pm on Thursday, February 6th

Finals ballots released at 8pm on Thursday, February 6th

Finals ballots due at 1pm on Saturday, February 8th

Results posted ASAP!

Tournament Information:

 

JUDGES: We ask that your team provide one judge for every six entries. Hired judges are available at $12.00 per uncovered slot. Due to the difficulty of finding high-quality hired judges, we ask each team to furnish at least one judge.

 

LIMITED PREP: Limited Preparation events only need to provide one video for the tournament.  Prompts will be posted to Speechwire under “Files for download” by Friday, January 31st. Impromptu speakers should include prep time in their videos. Extemp speakers need NOT include prep time.
