Hawaiian Luau Forensics Tournament

 

The Union Grove High School Forensics Team invites your team to join us at the Hawaiian Luau Tournament on Saturday, February 8th at Union Grove High School. All questions regarding the information below should be addressed to Jennifer Jackowski at jackjen@ug.k12.wi.us or 262-878-2434 ext. 1253. 

 

Entries: There are 4 entries per category. We do not allow double entries. JV entries are welcome, but only the top 25 will earn points toward the team award. Individual medals will be given to the top three students in each category. 

 

Judges: You must have one judge for every four entries (a maximum of six). Judges do not need to be adjudicated for this Tournament. You can hire a judge at a cost of $150/judge. Notify me ASAP if you need a judge.

 

Registration:  You must register for the tournament on SpeechWire.  Let me know if you have any technical difficulties (jackjen@ug.k12.wi.us).  Please have all your entries on SpeechWire by noon on Thursday, February 6th.  Whatever your judge total is on the 6th (based on your entries) is what you will be responsible for bringing to the tournament on February 8th.  Minor edits may be made on SpeechWire until Friday, February 7th! All drops MUST then be texted to me at 262-930-6058.

 

Judges: The judges' lounge will be in Room 146. Breakfast items and lunch (Domino's Pizza) will be offered free of charge. Elevators will also be available. If you have any judges/students with special needs, please let Jen Jackowski know.

 

Day of the tournament: Please do not arrive until 7:50 AM! Please ask your bus drivers to drop students off in the southern lot of the school. (Doors are located to the left of the weight room which is next to our football field.)

Payment:  All checks should be made out to “Union Grove High School Forensics.”  Cost is $7/individual entry and $11/group entry (group interp., playacting).
