Savannah Showdown

Open Tournament Invite

Dear NSDA Teams and Coaches,

Savannah High School would like to cordially invite you to the “Savannah Showdown” Open Speech and Debate Tournament. This year, our tournament will take place Friday, December 15th and Saturday, December 16th. Events will be split between the two days with Friday being I.E.’s and Congress, and Debate events on Saturday.

Friday: We will be hosting Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Informative Speaking, Original Oratory, US Extemporaneous Speaking, International Extemporaneous Speaking, and Congress. Prose, Poetry, Program Oral Interpretation, and Storytelling will also be offered under MSHSAA rules.

Saturday: We will be hosting Reg/Champ Public Forum Debate, Reg/Champ Lincoln-Douglas Debate, and open Policy Debate.

Entries can be entered into SpeechWire.com until December 8th, 2023 at 3:00 pm. We will guarantee three (3) entries in each event and then all other entries will be waitlisted. The entry fee will be $8.00 per entry. We ask that each school provides ONE judge for each day that they attend. We will try not to use coach judges. Any questions can be directed to Alex Meierhofer, (816) 877-4992 (cell), or alex.meierhofer@savannahr3.com.
