Dear NIFA Colleagues,

We welcome you to attend the 2025 Nebraska Intercollegiate Forensics Association State Tournament on Saturday February 8th, 2025, hosted by Hastings College. We look forward to providing teams with quality competition in a relaxed atmosphere. This year we are excited to open our invitation to all Nebraska and Kansas college institutions.

Individual event preliminary rounds and all out-rounds will take place on Saturday, February 8th. Semi-finals will be held for any event with 40 entries or more. Schools are allowed a maximum of six entries per individual event and limited to 66 total events.

The tournament schedule allows students to compete in up to six individual events. Students may enter no more than three events per conflict pattern and no more than two Duos. We do make an exception for final-year competitors at their coach’s discretion to as many as four events in one flight. These special cases may not exceed a team limit of six entries per individual event.

The top two Nebraska speakers in Persuasive Speaking (Oratory) will qualify for the Interstate Oratorical Association National Contest. Therefore, Persuasive Speaking (Oratory) will follow the specialized rules of Interstate Oratory, as described in the invitation.

Our 2025 tournament will be arranged and tabulated on www.speechwire.com. Please submit all entries via SpeechWire by Monday, February 3rd, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Fees will be assessed as of 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Please send your Spirit of NIFA nominations (open to any student in Nebraska and Kansas) directly to Allison Bonander at AllisonBonander@unl.edu by Monday, February 3rd. We look forward to hosting you at what promises to be another incredible showcase of Nebraska forensics talent.
