Welcome to Orange County Public Schools' Speech and Debate League's fifth tournament at Cypress Creek High School (1101 Bear Crossing Dr, Orlando, FL 32824)! This tournament is for OCPS schools only. Currently we are allowing Novice only competitors (both middle and high school) with varsity team members allowed to judge as long as they have a minimum of 75 NSDA points.

There will be no fees associated with this tournament.

Registration Ends on Tuesday 2/18 at 6pm.

Our current Schedule is as following:

3:00-3:30 Registration

3:30-4:30 Round 1

4:30-5:00 Break/Buffer*

5:00-6:00 Round 2

6:00-6:30 Break/Buffer*

6:30-7:00 Awards

Awards will be presented to the first 3 places in each event, as well as gavels for our Congress Presiding Officers.

Judge Needs:

1 Judge for every TWO debate entries

1 Judge for every FIVE congress or speech entries

LD Topic

Resolved: The United States ought to become party to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and/or the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

PF Topic

Resolved: The African Union should grant diplomatic recognition to the Republic of Somaliland as an independent state.

Coach must be present for the duration of the tournament. If the coach cannot be present the coach must send a letter from their principal designating a responsible adult to be in charge. It is the coaches responsibility that all volunteers are ADDitions approved.
