One judge covers 8 forensics slots plus two debate “units.”

So the team directing the tournament has a written record of your entry please email it to Christine Mellon (Christine.mellon@Wilkes.edu) OR signup using SpeechWire. You will receive an email confirming receipt.

On Friday, February 23rd through Thursday, February 29, please report any changes to Christine Mellon at 570-926-5580. On Thursday, February 29th, send room numbers of all judges to Neil Strine by email or by text at (570) 764-2387.

CFA Spring Tournament

Housing

All schools are being invited to stay at the Massanutten Resort in VA, as this is a “Hotel Tournament.” CFA is obligated to fill hotel rooms under our contract with the hotel.

Also, a “Hotel” tournament means that we will use individual hotel rooms for competition space. Schools should expect to have their judges’ hotel rooms be used for competition space at the tournament.

The room rate for 3 nights (Thursday-Saturday) is $497.18 and includes taxes, resort fees, and parking. The room rate for 2 nights (Thursday & Friday) is $316.56 and includes taxes, resort fees, and parking. These rooms include 2 Queen beds and sleep 4 people. These rates also include access to the recreation centers and swimming pools at the Massanutten Fitness Recreation Club and Woodstone Meadows. There is also a WaterPark at this resort and group rate passes can be purchased by your individual teams.

To make a reservation, contact the Massanutten Resort at 540-289-4032. Let the Resort know that you are booking under the room block…………. CFA February 2025. Reservations will automatically be billed for $75 per room at the time of booking. All reservations require full payment 7 days before check-in. The amount owed will be charged to the credit card on file unless otherwise noted.

The deadline for reserving a room is Friday, February 14, 2025 at 5 PM. Cancellations must be made at least 7 days before arrival on February 21, 2025. A $75 per room cancellation per room will apply if you cancel within 7 days prior to your arrival date. Any no shows will be charged per the resort policy. Any changes will incur a $25 change fee.
