The Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) invite USG institutions to join us for the 2nd Annual Regents Cup Debate Series. This tournament will take place on April 17, 2025, at Middle Georgia State University's Macon campus.

The debates will feature the IPDA debate format with four (4) preliminary rounds, semi-finals, and finals.
The winning program will be awarded the Regents Cup. Individual semifinalists and finalists will also receive awards.

  • Tournament Site: The tournament will be held on the Middle Georgia State University Macon Campus (100 University Parkway, Macon, GA 31206)
  • Tournament Center: The tournament will be centrally held in the Robert F. Hatcher Sr. Conference Center
  • Registration: Registration/check-in will begin at 8:00 AM in the lobby of the conference center. All schools are required to check in and verify their entries prior to the first round of competition.
  • Hotels: Lodging off Bass Road in Macon is suggested. There is a Hampton Inn close to the conference center if teams are looking for a convenient location.
  • Parking: Attendees should park in unreserved spaces in the West Parking Lot. Overflow parking is available in the South Parking Lot.

  • Lunch options: Lunch will be provided to all participants and coaches.
  • Entry limitations: Debaters must be undergraduate students enrolled at a USG institution. Each institution will be limited to two debaters with one alternate. Only designated coaches may register debaters.
  • Entry deadline: All entries must be submitted via Speechwire by April 1, 2025.
