You are cordially invited to the St. Augustine Catholic Forensics League (SACFL) fifth meet of the 2024-25 season. This league event is hosted by Eastside High School-Gainesville. Your league official is Marna Weston, Eastside High School-Gainesville

 

This tournament, the St. Augustine Catholic Forensic League Grand Final of February 21 & 22, 2025, is the local area qualifier for the National Catholic Forensic League Grand National Championship (NCFLGNC) for high school students, to be held Memorial Day weekend 2025 in the City of Chicago, Illinois. 

 

The following events will be featured at this tournament yet only those noted as qualifying events can advance students to the NCFLGNC. Qualifying Events: DP, DUO, EXT, OI, DEC, OO, CONG, LD, POLICY, and PF. Non-Qualifying Events: EXT DEBATE, IMPROMPTU, INFORMATIVE, and JUST TALK.

No middle schoolers can qualify to the NCFLGNC. Our local does allow participation by middle schoolers. In fact middle schoolers can win this local tournament championship, but will still not qualify to the NCFLGNC. 

 

Special Notes: 

All entries including judges are due on Wednesday February 19, 2025 no later than 10:00pm EST.

 

CONGRESS LEGISLATION DEADLINE IS TUESDAY FEBRUARY 18th at NOON. Schools that submit legislation by the deadline will receive an email with all submitted legislation by WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 19th at 10:00pm. Submit legislation to Mr. Weston via email at westonmr@gm.sbac.edu.

 

Fees are $30.00 per event, per student (that's $60.00 per event with two students). Students may double enter in Speech events, but not Congress or Debate events. Entries must be covered by adult judges over the age of 18 years old. FOR DOUBLE ENTERED students, coaches must inform the Tournament Director, which event the student will take to nationals (if qualified) prior to the start of the awards ceremony. 

 

Pizza Lunch will be at 11:30am on Saturday. Concessions will be offered throughout the day. Please bring smaller bills/cash as no other forms of payment are accepted for food purchases. A school check or cash is required for entry fees. Personal checks will not be accepted.
