You are cordially invited to the Red Raider Junior High/Middle School Speech Meet.

 

–The Red Raider Junior High/Middle School Speech meet is open to students in grades5-8.

 

–Registration will begin at 2:00 PM and rounds will start at 2:30 PM. We will run three rounds with no current plans for finals.  

 

–Entry Deadline: Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 at 11:00 PM.  Any schools with drops made after this deadline are still responsible for their original entry fee. Please have a check made out to Loup City Public Schools at the time of your arrival, if this is an inconvenience for you please let me know.

 

–Judges: We are asking that you supply 1 judge for every 6 entries you bring. If bringing Qualified High School students please make sure you have trained them to be positive and constructive.

 

–Fees: We will be charging $5 for each entry and every uncovered judge will be $30

 

–The events offered this year are: Declamation, Duet Acting, Entertainment, Extemporaneous (this will be a lite version), Humorous Prose, Impromptu, Improv Duet, Informative, OID, Persuasive, Poetry, POI, Serious Prose. If we don't have sufficient entries in Entertainment/Informative/Persuasive we will combine them into one event: Public Speaking, that’s something I will communicate as we approach the date of the event. We will allow students to triple enter, just to remind them that all events will be run at the same time. We will be awarding certificates to the top six competitors with a medal for the champions

 

–Extemporaneous Preparation: We will be allowing all electronic devices in extemp prep per the high school NSAA rules. We will also allow open internet. Internet access cannot be promised of course - we do our best but some school devices just do not work. Please have a backup plan - if your school has a hot spot please check it out and bring it.

 

–Concessions: There will be a concession stand provided throughout the entire day.
