Hello Jr High Speech Teams

You are invited to the 2025 Central Valley Cougar Clash! We are scheduled for Wednesday, April 9th, 2025.

 

* This year the speech meet will be held in Greeley at Central Valley High School.

 

*This meet is open to grades 6-8th with a 2-round format. 

 

*Registration will begin at 3:00 and rounds start at 3:30. Central Valley does have an early out this day at 2:45 so we hope we can manage the traffic. I will send out instructions for competitor drop-off and parking before the meet after I get the logistics figured out. If any teams arrive before 3:00pm they will need to stay confined in the gym. 

 

* ENTRY DEADLINE: Monday April 7th, 2024 at noon.  Any schools with drops made after this deadline are still responsible for their original entry fee. Please have a check made out to Central Valley Public Schools at the time of your arrival for the sum of your entry fees which will be sent out the Monday before. 

* I have put a cap on Entries, at this time due to room availability. 

*JUDGES: You will be required to supply judges for each 6 events you bring. If bringing High School students please make sure you have trained them. 

 

*The events offered this year are Declamation, Duet Acting, Serious Prose, Humorous Prose, Public Speaking(persuasive,entertainment,informative) Impromptu, OID, and Poetry/POI. We will allow students to triple+ enter, just to remind them that all events will be run at the same time. We will be giving awards out to the top 6 competitors in each event, as well as awarding the top two teams in Sweepstakes and Two Overall Top Speaker Awards.

We will have a limited beverage and snack concession stand available.
